Can't Edit in Dashboard Editor

Help!

I am trying to customize an existing dashboard layout but am having issues.  I have downloaded DashXL Skin Editor and tried to open an existing dashboard skin (e.g. Tuxedo Portrait) several times - however, every time I click on "Edit Dashboard" I get a pop-up (see screencap example below) that is prohibiting me from doing anything else with the program, and can't be closed in the normal fashion.  I actually have to go into the Windows Task Manager just to close the pop-up.  Is there something I am missing?  I am using Windows 7 if that makes any difference.  TIA for any help.

That pop-up should only been seen when the DashXL Editor window is open. If you hover over the SkinXL icon in the taskbar, it should give you window previews and there should be a third window. It could be that the editor window is opening off-screen, which has happened with a few other users.

Now I can try and play around with the editor for a while.

Just as an FYI

I had this same problem and I minimized the Edit window and this caused it not to come up when I clicked on the "edit Dashboard"  By right-clicking on the window in the taskbar and selecting "Maximize" it brought it back up. 

Maybe this will help people in the future.

Yeah this issue sucks.

Lets be real for a minute though. This software is outdated bigtime.

Any plans for a new version..?

Im running it in Wine and it sucks bad. Real bad.
